Summary

Cha-cha with the chimps, rock 'n' roll with the rhino in this funny and very moving story about Gerald the Giraffe who longs to dance - but is laughed off the dance floor。 Hilarious illustrations complement Giles Andreae's rollicking rhyme。

Illustration is silly and fun and that's one of the reasons i like this story。 The storyline is another way of learning not to judge and understand everyone is different and shares a different style of things。 Illustration is silly and fun and that's one of the reasons i like this story。 The storyline is another way of learning not to judge and understand everyone is different and shares a different style of things。 。。。more

I was bothered by the logical fallacy, where with the species that can dance, there is no reason why giraffes couldn't; they could have gone with Gerald himself not being able to dance, and that would have been fine。 However, I really like the concluding line: "We all can dance," he said,"when we find music that we love。"And realistically, children will probably not mind the logical fallacy part。 I was bothered by the logical fallacy, where with the species that can dance, there is no reason why giraffes couldn't; they could have gone with Gerald himself not being able to dance, and that would have been fine。 However, I really like the concluding line: "We all can dance," he said,"when we find music that we love。"And realistically, children will probably not mind the logical fallacy part。 。。。more

so awful! a story about how the animals mock the giraffe for dancing his own way, calling him stupid and weird?!?! and then cut him out of the party and in the end he's changed his dance to fit what the group wants? NO! This is likely supposed to be a "march to the beat of your own drum" kind of story but it comes off more like "don't be yourself, do what everyone else wants you to do"。 so awful! a story about how the animals mock the giraffe for dancing his own way, calling him stupid and weird?!?! and then cut him out of the party and in the end he's changed his dance to fit what the group wants? Gifafess can't dance is about a giraffe name gerald who did not know how dance。 The book is a cute story that has great illustrations that will keep the children engaged in the book。 This book also touches on social-emotional topic because it describes how the giraffe felt when they couldn't dance。 I love how the book offers many rhyming words throughout the story。 I would recommend this book to teachers and parents who would like to teach rhyming words with a fun story。 Gifafess can't dance is about a giraffe name gerald who did not know how dance。 The book is a cute story that has great illustrations that will keep the children engaged in the book。 This book also touches on social-emotional topic because it describes how the giraffe felt when they couldn't dance。 I love how the book offers many rhyming words throughout the story。 I would recommend this book to teachers and parents who would like to teach rhyming words with a fun story。 。。。more

My two favorite quotes of this great book:“So imagine that the lovely moon is playing just for you- everything makes music if you really want it to。”“We can all dance, when we find music that we love。”Everyone is unique and we can use our uniqueness to create music and love no matter what is going on in our life。

I love this book。 Gerald shows us with the help of your little cricket 🦗 friend that it doesn't matter what people say about you。 And if you follow your heart you do your own dance 🦒we all can dance。 Beautiful illustrations 🧡 I love this book。 Gerald shows us with the help of your little cricket 🦗 friend that it doesn't matter what people say about you。 And if you follow your heart you do your own dance 🦒we all can dance。 Beautiful illustrations 🧡 。。。more

"Giraffes Can't Dance" is a social emotional book about a giraffe who is a little different from all of the other animals around, he doesn't have the best balance or dance moves like everyone else does。 when it came down to the night of the dance party between all of the animals, Gerald felt very out of place and down on himself。 A cricket told him he just needed a different song, and sure enough Gerald could dance once he heard a different song。 I gave this book a 5 star rating because it teach "Giraffes Can't Dance" is a social emotional book about a giraffe who is a little different from all of the other animals around, he doesn't have the best balance or dance moves like everyone else does。 when it came down to the night of the dance party between all of the animals, Gerald felt very out of place and down on himself。 A cricket told him he just needed a different song, and sure enough Gerald could dance once he heard a different song。 I gave this book a 5 star rating because it teaches that just to succeed you don't need to take the same path as everyone else。 I think this is a valuable lesson for many kids to learn at an early age。 。。。more

This story is about Gerald the Giraffe。 Poor Gerald can not dance, but he still does。 This story is a great lesson for Youngers students because it has a double meaning about being yourself, and not listening to stereotypes。

What do you do when all you want to do is dance? Gerald the Giraffe can answer that。 Remain positive and try your best anyways。 This is what he does when he struggles with finding his rhythm, try again and never give up。 I loved this book and reading about Gerald and how he looks at life when something seems too difficult。

Book 1 of the GGS Reading Challenge 2021 is complete! A picture book。I bought this for my 3 year old daughter for World Book Day as a present。 I HAD to have a cheeky read beforehand, though, and it's really good!Like Gerald, I cannot dance to save my life, but as Gerald proves, sometimes you need to march, or rather dance, to the beat of your own drum。 Book 1 of the GGS Reading Challenge 2021 is complete!
